TrendSpider Review 2026: Worth $89 a Month?

TrendSpider is a cloud charting platform for active technical traders: automated trendlines and patterns, 300+ indicators, market scanners, a no-code backtester, alerts, bots and an AI assistant called Sidekick. As of October 3, 2026 it costs $89 to $349 a month on monthly billing, or $59 to $233 a month billed annually, with no free plan. It is one of the most complete tools in its category, and also one of the more demanding ones.
Disclosure. I am the founder of Bullynx, an AI chart-analysis tool that overlaps with part of what TrendSpider does. Read this review with that in mind. I did not subscribe to TrendSpider for this article: every fact below comes from TrendSpider's public pricing page, product pages and refund policy, plus its public Trustpilot profile, all linked in the sources. Where TrendSpider is better than our product, this review says so.
Key takeaway
TrendSpider is a serious workbench for traders who chart, scan and backtest every week, and its price reflects that. The checks before paying: whether you will use the automation and backtesting enough to justify $59 to $349 a month, the paid 14-day trial, the 72-hour refund window, and the extra cost of options data and Sidekick messages beyond 25 a month.
How this TrendSpider review was evaluated
This is a documentary review, based on the public product pages, pricing and documentation. Prices, plan limits, trial terms, data fees and the refund policy were read on trendspider.com on October 3, 2026. Ratings come from TrendSpider's public Trustpilot page on the same date. Performance claims in user testimonials are reported as claims, not as evidence of typical results. Prices in this category change often, so confirm the amount at checkout.
What TrendSpider is, and what it costs
TrendSpider is a browser-based platform with native iOS and Android apps and a browser extension. Its pitch is automation: it draws trendlines and Fibonacci levels for you, recognizes chart patterns, runs scans on a schedule, backtests strategies without code, and turns conditions into alerts or trading bots. Real-time data for US stocks, ETFs, forex and crypto is included for non-professional users.
All four individual plans include every feature. They differ on capacity: how many workspaces, bots and alerts you can run, how granular backtests are, and how many training sessions you get.
| Plan (as of October 2026) | Monthly billing | Annual billing | 14-day trial fee | Capacity highlights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $89/mo | $708/yr ($59/mo) | $19 | 5 workspaces, 5 bots, 10 alerts, 3 scheduled scans |
| Premium | $149/mo | $1,188/yr ($99/mo) | $29 | 10 workspaces, 10 bots, 50 alerts, 5 scheduled scans |
| Enhanced | $199/mo | $1,596/yr ($133/mo) | $39 | 15 workspaces, 50 bots, 100 alerts, 7 scheduled scans |
| Advanced | $349/mo | $2,796/yr ($233/mo) | $49 | 20 workspaces, 100 bots, 400 alerts, 10 scheduled scans |

Add-ons sit on top of the plan price:
- Options data (OPRA): $9.50 a month for non-professional users.
- Futures data (CME, NYMEX, COMEX, CBOT): $7.50 a month for non-professional users.
- Professional equities data: $29 a month, required for FINRA or SEC registered professionals.
- Deeper backtests: $39 a month.
- More Sidekick AI messages: every plan includes 25 a month; 100 messages cost $49 a month, 300 cost $129, 1,000 cost $349.
For an options trader on the Standard plan with options data, that is $98.50 a month on monthly billing before any Sidekick upgrade.
What TrendSpider does well
Automated technical analysis. Automated trendlines, Fibonacci levels, chart pattern recognition and multi-timeframe analysis are the core of the product. For a trader who spends an hour a day drawing the same lines by hand, that is the clearest time saving TrendSpider offers.
No-code backtesting. The Strategy Tester lets you describe entry and exit conditions and test them on historical data without writing code, with slippage and cost adjustments and multi-symbol tests. Testing a rule before risking money on it is the habit most retail traders skip, and TrendSpider makes it accessible. Our guide to AI backtesting covers why that matters and where overfitting creeps in.
Scanning, alerts and bots in one place. Scheduled scans, multi-factor alerts and no-code bots let you turn a setup into something that watches the market for you. Through a free SignalStack account, TrendSpider connects to more than 30 brokerages and crypto exchanges, with 5 automated orders a month included.
Sidekick works with live data. Sidekick can see your TrendSpider charts, pull real-time quotes, news and fundamentals, identify levels, interpret indicators and even build scanners and alerts on request. You can choose among several third-party AI models and personas. Because it sits inside the platform, it reads data rather than an image, which is a genuine advantage.
Support and training. Every plan includes at least one training session a year, up to 52 on Advanced. Support is also the most praised theme in public reviews (see below).
Where TrendSpider stops: price, learning curve, add-ons
It is expensive if you do not use the depth. The Standard plan is $89 a month on monthly billing. That is fair for a full-time technical trader. For someone who checks a few charts a week, most of the capacity goes unused.
No free plan, and the trial is paid. The 14-day trial costs $19 to $49 depending on the plan, and that fee is non-refundable. The upside, per TrendSpider, is that the trial gives full access.
A narrow refund window. After a trial renews or a full plan is bought, you have 72 hours from the charge to request a refund, minus the trial fee. Purchases at a promotional price are final. Cancelling stops renewals but keeps the account active until the end of the paid period.
The add-ons add up. Options and futures data, deeper backtests and Sidekick messages beyond 25 a month are all extra. Read the full price, not the headline.
The learning curve is real. TrendSpider itself notes that some complex features are best used on desktop. Negative reviews on Trustpilot mention tools that take patience to learn and features that did not work as expected.
AI output is still output. Sidekick and automated pattern recognition describe what the data shows; they do not know what price will do next. The SEC, FINRA and NASAA have jointly warned investors about AI-flavored claims of outsized returns. That alert is about fraud in the broad market and is not an allegation about TrendSpider. It is context for how to read any confident AI output, ours included.
What users say about TrendSpider
As of October 3, 2026, TrendSpider's Trustpilot page shows a TrustScore of 4.8 out of 5 from close to 900 reviews. The recurring positive themes are fast, helpful support (individual support staff are named again and again), the quality of the charting, and the time saved by automated trendlines and pattern recognition. The recurring negative themes are the learning curve, advanced features that did not behave as expected for some users, and friction around trials and pricing.
That profile is consistent with the product: a deep tool with strong support, priced for people who will use the depth.
Who TrendSpider fits, and who should skip it
Best for: active US stock, ETF, futures or crypto traders who chart every day, want automated trendlines and patterns, and will actually backtest, scan and set alerts. Also a good fit for traders who want an AI assistant that works on live data inside one platform.
Who should skip it: traders who look at a handful of charts a week, anyone who wants to try before paying anything, and traders whose charts live in thinkorswim, Webull, Robinhood or a broker app and who do not want to move their workflow to a new charting platform. If your question is "what does this one chart say", a full platform is more than you need.
TrendSpider vs Bullynx
The two tools overlap on one job, reading a chart, and differ on almost everything else. Bullynx is our product, so weigh this section accordingly.
| TrendSpider | Bullynx | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Full charting, scanning, backtesting and automation platform | AI read of a chart screenshot, plus the Lynx chat |
| Where the chart comes from | TrendSpider's own charts and data feed | A screenshot from any platform or broker: TradingView, thinkorswim, Webull, Robinhood, a broker app |
| What the AI returns | Sidekick answers questions on your charts and data, builds scans and alerts | Trend, support and resistance, a bullish and a bearish scenario, and the invalidation level |
| Live data, scanning, backtesting | Yes | No: Bullynx reads an image, not a feed |
| Alerts, bots, broker connection | Yes (bots and broker routing via SignalStack) | No: Bullynx never connects to a broker and never places orders |
| Price (as of October 2026) | $89 to $349/mo monthly, $59 to $233/mo annual | Pro $39/mo or $374/yr; Elite $99/mo or $950/yr |
| Try before paying | 14-day paid trial ($19 to $49) | No free plan and no trial |
What Bullynx does differently. It starts from the chart you already have open, wherever it is. You upload a screenshot and get a structured read: the trend, the levels price reacted to, a bullish case and a bearish case with what would trigger each, and the level at which the read stops being true. Lynx, the chat on Pro and Elite, lets you question that read and remembers your profile and strategy. That is the whole product, and it is described on the AI chart analysis page.
What Bullynx does not do that TrendSpider does. No live quotes, no market-wide scanning, no backtesting, no alerts, no bots, no automated trendlines on a live chart, no broker connection. If you need any of those, TrendSpider or a similar platform is the right category, and Bullynx is at most a complement.
The side-by-side on our compare page, Bullynx vs TrendSpider, covers the same ground in table form.
How TrendSpider compares with the alternatives
- If the price is the problem, our TrendSpider alternatives guide sorts cheaper charting and chart-reading tools by what they actually replace.
- If you are choosing between automated charting and AI robots, Tickeron vs TrendSpider sets those two side by side, and our Tickeron review covers Tickeron on its own.
- If you day trade US stocks and mainly want a real-time scanner, the Trade Ideas review looks at the other big name in that space.
- If you trade stocks and want the screenshot workflow specifically, the AI stock chart analysis page explains how the screenshot read works on stock and ETF charts.
- If you trade options and mainly need a read of the underlying's chart rather than paid OPRA data, see AI options chart analysis. It reads the price chart you upload; it does not read an options chain or Greeks.
Verdict: is TrendSpider worth it?
TrendSpider is a legitimate, well-supported and genuinely deep platform. Automated trendlines and patterns, no-code backtesting, scanners, alerts, bots and an AI assistant that works on live data are a lot of capability in one subscription, and its public reviews are strong.
The question is fit, not quality. At $59 to $349 a month plus data add-ons, it pays off for traders who use the automation and testing every week. If you mainly want a fast, structured second opinion on a chart you already look at in your own broker or charting app, you are paying for a workshop when you need one tool. Use the paid trial deliberately: decide in advance which three features you will test, and cancel within the window if they do not change how you trade.
