How AI chart analysis works
AI transparency and system explanation
This page fulfills the transparency requirements of the EU AI Act for General Purpose AI System applications. It is a technical explanation, not a marketing page.
How does AI chart analysis work?
AI chart analysis turns a picture of a chart into a written read. You screenshot the chart you are already looking at, upload the image, and a vision language model describes what is in it: the trend, the support and resistance levels as numbers, a bullish and a bearish scenario, and the invalidation level at which the read stops being true. It describes the chart. It does not predict the next candle, and it is not financial advice.
- Screenshot the chart: Capture the chart you already have open, on any platform: TradingView, MetaTrader 4 or 5, Webull, Thinkorswim, or a broker app on your phone. Keep the ticker, the timeframe and the price axis in frame, because that is what lets the levels come back as real prices rather than vague descriptions.
- Upload the image: Drop the PNG, JPG or WebP into the analyzer. Nothing is read from your broker and no account is connected: the image is the only input, plus the profile and strategy you described during onboarding.
- The vision model reads the image: A vision language model identifies the candle structure, the swing highs and lows, the zones price has visibly reacted to, and any indicators drawn on the chart. There is no proprietary trading algorithm and no forecasting model behind it.
- You get the four-part read: The trend and whether the structure is clean or choppy, the support and resistance levels as numbers, and both scenarios: the bullish case and the bearish case, each with the condition that sets it in motion.
- And the invalidation level: The last part is the price at which the read stops being true. That is the line that turns an opinion into something you can size around, and it is why the output is a plan rather than a call.
- Then you ask follow-up questions: The conversational copilot keeps the read in context, so you can ask why a level matters, what would break the thesis, or how the picture changes on a higher timeframe, without re-uploading or re-explaining.
The full product page for this workflow is AI chart analysis, and the exact-match page for the tool itself is the chart screenshot analyzer.
The sections below are the technical transparency statement: what data the AI uses, how it produces an answer, what it cannot do, and the guardrails on every output.
1. What Bullynx Is
Bullynx is an AI-powered educational research platform for retail traders and investors. It provides:
- Chart screenshot analysis: identifying observable patterns, key price levels, and potential scenarios from uploaded chart images;
- Conversational AI assistant: for market research questions, scenario exploration, and educational commentary;
- Market data queries: live prices and recent news for specific instruments on request.
Bullynx is an educational tool. It does not provide regulated financial advice. It does not execute trades. It does not access your brokerage accounts.
The product pages describe each surface in detail: AI chart analysis for the screenshot read and the AI trading copilot for the conversational side. For the wider category, see the complete guide to AI chart analysis and how accurate AI stock prediction really is. Our published evaluation protocol is on the research page.
2. What Data the AI Uses
The AI has access to the following context when generating a response:
- your investor profile (communication style preferences: experience level, trading style, preferred assets);
- relevant facts the system has extracted from previous conversations (“memory”);
- the last several messages in the current conversation;
- live market data when you ask about a specific instrument (fetched in real time);
- recent news headlines when requested;
- the chart analyses you have run in Bullynx, so answers can refer back to a read you already asked for.
The AI does NOT have access to:
- your brokerage account (Bullynx never connects to brokers);
- your bank account or credit data;
- any data not explicitly listed above.
3. How the AI Makes Decisions
Bullynx uses large language models (LLMs) operated by our AI provider, accessed via API. These are general-purpose language models, not proprietary trading algorithms. When you send a message, the system:
- checks your usage quota;
- retrieves relevant memory facts (by semantic similarity to your message);
- optionally fetches live market data if your question involves a ticker symbol;
- constructs a prompt containing your message, context, and instructions;
- sends the prompt to the LLM;
- receives the response, appends a disclaimer if the response mentions financial instruments, and returns it to you.
There is no proprietary “black box” algorithm making investment recommendations. The LLM produces text responses based on its training data and the context we provide.
4. What the AI Cannot Do
The AI cannot:
- execute trades or place orders;
- access your brokerage, exchange, or bank accounts;
- guarantee accuracy of any analysis or market data;
- predict future price movements with certainty;
- provide tax advice;
- provide legally binding investment advice;
- store data beyond what is explicitly described in our Privacy Policy.
5. How We Prevent Harmful Outputs
We implement the following guardrails:
- The system prompt explicitly forbids the AI from using directive language (“buy”, “sell”, “you should invest”).
- Every AI response that mentions a financial instrument or trade scenario automatically includes the disclaimer: “Educational only. Not financial advice. DYOR.”
- Chart analysis outputs always include the disclaimer: “Chart analysis is for educational purposes. Past patterns do not guarantee future results.”
- All AI outputs are logged in a WORM-compliant audit log for compliance monitoring.
- The system prompt instructs the AI to acknowledge uncertainty rather than hallucinate.
6. Memory and Personalisation
Bullynx extracts structured facts from your conversations to improve future responses (for example: “prefers dividend stocks”, “has 5 years of trading experience”). These facts are stored in your account and retrieved contextually when relevant to your current question.
You can delete all stored memory by deleting your account. Memory is used solely to improve the relevance of AI responses, not to profile you for advertising or third-party data sharing.
7. AI Provider and Limitations
The AI models used by Bullynx are operated by a third-party AI provider. Specific model information is listed in our Privacy Policy under Subprocessors. The provider’s service is subject to their terms, availability guarantees, and potential changes.
If the AI provider experiences an outage, the AI features of Bullynx will be unavailable. We do not use your data to train AI models. Our agreement with our AI provider includes contractual prohibitions on using customer data for model training.
8. Opt-Out and Data Deletion
You can stop using the AI features at any time. To delete all your data (conversations, memory, profile, analyses), delete your account from account settings. All personal data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion, except anonymised billing records which are retained for fraud prevention as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Contact for AI-Related Concerns
If you have concerns about AI-generated content you have received, believe an output was harmful or inaccurate, or have questions about this transparency statement, contact legal@bullynx.com.
10. Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Bullynx?
- Bullynx is an AI-powered educational research platform for retail traders and investors. It analyzes chart screenshots for observable patterns and key price levels, answers market questions as a conversational AI assistant, and fetches live prices and recent news for specific instruments on request. It is educational only and does not provide regulated financial advice.
- Can Bullynx read a chart screenshot?
- Yes. Upload a screenshot of a chart and Bullynx identifies what looks like the instrument, observable patterns such as support, resistance, and indicators, and potential bullish and bearish scenarios. It is an educational read of observable structure, not a prediction.
- How does AI chart analysis work?
- Six steps. You screenshot the chart you have open on any platform, keeping the ticker, timeframe and price axis in frame. You upload the image. A vision language model reads the candle structure, the swing highs and lows, the zones price has reacted to, and any indicators drawn on the chart. It returns the four-part read: trend, levels, both scenarios. Then it names the invalidation level at which the read stops being true. Then you ask follow-up questions in chat. There is no proprietary trading algorithm behind it and no forecasting model.
- Does Bullynx use live market data?
- Yes, when you ask about a specific instrument it fetches live prices in real time, and recent news headlines when requested. It does not access your brokerage account, your real holdings, or your bank or credit data.
- Can Bullynx predict stock prices?
- No. Bullynx cannot predict future price movements with certainty. It describes observable patterns and potential scenarios for educational purposes. Past patterns do not guarantee future results.
- Is Bullynx financial advice?
- No. Bullynx is an educational tool. It is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner, and nothing it produces is financial advice. The AI never issues buy or sell instructions, and every output that mentions a trade scenario includes a disclaimer.
- Can Bullynx place trades or access my brokerage?
- No. Bullynx cannot execute trades or place orders, and it cannot access your brokerage, exchange, or bank accounts. It reads the screenshots you upload and answers questions, and you remain responsible for every decision.
